A defiant Donald Trump appeared on Fox News to make a series of new allegations of voter fraud in his first television appearance since losing the November 3 election.
Speaking to the network’s Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo by phone, the outgoing US president insisted that he would not accept the victory of Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden.
Biden clearly won the election, received 306 electoral college votes compared to Trump’s 232, and also won the popular vote by more than six million ballots.
But while Biden won more votes in the electoral college in 2020 than Trump in 2016 when he claimed he had defeated Hillary Clinton as “crushing,” he has continued to make unproven claims of voter fraud.
He also made the claim, without supporting evidence, that the FBI and the Justice Department may be involved in a ploy to “rig” the elections.
There is no evidence of widespread electoral fraud in the 2020 elections. There is also no evidence of an attempt to rig the elections against the president.
He told Bartiromo that the election results boiled down to “big massive landfills.”
“This election ended and then they made landfills, they call them landfills, big massive landfills in Michigan and Pennsylvania and everywhere else,” Trump said.
“If you take a look at it, you just take a look at almost every state that we’re talking about, all the changing states that we’re talking about. And they did these massive vote dumps. And all of a sudden it went from winning by big to losing. narrowly “.
Unsurprisingly, Trump’s awkward choice of words made the hashtag #massivedumps trending on Twitter in the wake of the interview.
Meanwhile, the 74-year-old told Bartiromo that he will not back down.
“My mind will not change in six months,” Trump said on the air Sunday.
“There was a tremendous trap here.”
“If Republicans allow it to happen, there will never be another elected Republican in the history of this country, not at the Senate level or at the presidential level.”
He promised to use “125 percent of my energy” to fight the election results, but said it was “difficult” to take the matter to the Supreme Court and criticized the judges who had already rejected some of his legal challenges so far. . .
“We are not allowed to present our evidence. They say you have no standing,” Trump said.
“I’d like to file a big, beautiful lawsuit, talking about this and many other things, with tremendous evidence. We have affidavits, we have hundreds and hundreds of affidavits.
“You mean that as president of the United States I have no standing? What kind of judicial system is this?”
Trump criticized the Republican Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and said he was “ashamed” to have personally endorsed him after Kemp certified Biden’s victory in the crucial state.
During the interview, Trump also questioned the fact that Biden ended up with more than 80 million votes, the most ever recorded for a presidential candidate.
“Joe Biden did not get 80 million votes,” Trump said without evidence, claiming the election was “a disaster.”
Trump went on to tell Bartiromo in the exclusive interview that he “has seen nothing” from the Justice Department or the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the 2020 election investigation.
“This is total fraud and how, the FBI and the Department of Justice, I don’t know, maybe they are involved, but how people are allowed to get out of this with these things is incredible,” Trump said.
“This election was rigged. This election was a total fraud and remains as they are hiding.
“And the problem we have is that we go to the judges and people don’t want to get involved.
“You’d think if you’re in the FBI or the Justice Department, this is the most important thing you could be looking at.
“Where are they? I haven’t seen anything.
“They keep moving forward and move on to the next president,” he said.
