All the action as Mike Tyson returns to the ring against Roy Jones Jr.

Mike Tyson hasn’t set foot in the ring in more than 15 years, but the former heavyweight king can still get a hefty pay.

The 54-year-old has terrorized social media for months by showing off his otherworldly punching skills and showing off his ragged physique before his long-awaited showdown with former four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr.

Today’s fight between two of boxing’s biggest names can be labeled an exhibition, but the two men involved don’t see it that way.

Both Tyson and Jones Jr. have scoffed at the established rules and both are preparing for what appears to be a painful encounter.

Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole revealed the astronomical payday for both fighters.

Tyson is set to win a whopping NZ $ 14.2 million, and Jones Jr. will go home with NZ $ 4.2 million.

Boxing journalist Dan Rafael noted that he had spoken to Jones Jr. earlier in the week and said, “Roy told me in an interview that his guarantee is $ 1 million (USD).”

Fans were quick to criticize the upcoming fight after the rules were announced, which state that there will be no judges in the ring scoring the fight and no winner will be declared.

In the eight two-minute rounds, fighters have been told they shouldn’t be looking for knockouts either. But Tyson struck back at the enemies after the pay-per-view event sold like hotcakes.

“Numbers don’t lie. Haters are mad they can’t get numbers like this. Saturday is the reckoning. @RealRoyJonesJr you better be ready,” Tyson wrote.

The report Tyson had shown detailed how the fight had broken pre-fight sales records for digital pay-per-view purchases.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi confirmed that both Tyson and Jones Jr. had completed and approved a drug testing program.
