There are seven new cases of Covid-19 in controlled isolation, six of which are members of the Pakistan cricket team staying in Christchurch.
The sports players’ cases were reported on Thursday, but were officially added to the active Covid-19 case count on Friday.
The other case arrived on November 23 and tested positive on the third day of his stay in administered isolation.

The Health Ministry announcement comes amid an investigation into the case of an Air New Zealand staff member who tested positive for coronavirus in China, and then again in New Zealand.

Genome sequencing has shown that they likely contracted the virus abroad, but when or where is unknown.
The airline said it is continuing to investigate.
The ministry said on Friday that 17 close contacts in that case had been identified.
Eleven tested negative, with the test results of six still pending.
The ministry has also warned those heading to Black Friday sales to scan using the Covid Tracer app.
“Clients should also wear a mask in places where they cannot physically distance themselves from others, and wash and disinfect their hands regularly,” he said in a statement.
“As always, if you are not feeling well, stay home and seek advice on getting tested; you can still shop online while keeping your community safe. ”
Cricket team in ‘final warning’
It was revealed on Thursday that the Pakistan cricket team is on its “final warning” after breaking the rules at a managed isolation facility in Christchurch.
The ministry said “several” members of the men’s team were seen breaking the rules in video captured by video surveillance cameras at the Chateau on the Park.
The Director General of Health, Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, were seen mingling in a hallway, chatting, sharing food, and without masks.
That was “not acceptable,” he said. Morning report.
The violations occurred despite “clear, consistent and detailed communication of the expected behaviors,” a ministry spokeswoman said.
Friday is the fourth day of the team in isolation at the hotel.
Training privileges have been revoked and players confined to their rooms.
The six members who tested positive were transferred to quarantine rooms within the facility.
