The chasingAnne Hegerty has revealed that she is not making as much money from the ever popular trivia contest as she used to, due to the arrival of a new Chaser.
New hunter Darragh Ennis, aka The Menace, made his UK quiz show debut in mid-November. It will be screened in New Zealand in December on TVNZ.
Ennis joined The Governess, The Sinnerman, The Beast, The Dark Destroyer, and The Vixen as the sixth pursuer.
However, The Governess has revealed that Hunters are only paid per performance, so a new Hunter joining their ranks means less money overall.

Appearing in The Lewis Nicholls Show On YouTube, Hegerty was asked about Ennis’s arrival.
“This is a complicated issue, because much of the public imagines that we are in the same type of deal as Hollywood stars in the 1930s.
“They were paid a salary per month, per year, and they were salaried employees in the studio and the studio found them things to do for that salary. This is not how it really works.
“We, The Chasers and Bradley, pay us a flat fee for every show we do.
“So whatever show I’m doing, it’s a show that I get paid for and the other Hunters don’t. And that applies to all of us.
“If you’re going to divide the shows by six instead of five, then, you know, do the math.”
Hegerty also revealed that host Bradley Walsh’s busy filming schedule outside of the show and Covid-19 have had an impact on The Chasers’ pockets.
“The problem is, Bradley is, because he’s in high demand and he’s so good, so great at everything he does and he can do so many different things, so of course he’s in high demand.
“And there are about ten more things he’s doing besides the Chase during the day. Much of the time we’ll find, ‘You know that filming block that was booked, we’re not going to shoot that week after all.’
“Turns out Bradley was doing another game show or something. And that’s a period of time that we’re not working on.
“So obviously you add a global pandemic and last year, because Bradley was still doing Doctor who, we only recorded 93 shows. And we should have recorded twice by now.
“This year we were hoping to make it up to 150, 160, and well, that didn’t happen.
“So we were hoping to catch up in the spring, but again, it all depends on whether Bradley is available, it depends a lot on whether one of these vaccines works.”
