The personal attorney for US President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, called the Pennsylvania presidential election a “sham” despite a judge dismissing his arguments.

Giuliani is in the historic state city of Gettysburg, to continue his fight to overturn the results of the presidential election and secure Trump a second term.

“I know thieves very well: you give them an inch and they take a mile, and you give them a mile and they take your whole country,” Giuliani said.

Pennsylvania has already certified its results and awarded its 20 voters to Democrat Joe Biden, who was declared the winner of the November 3 elections.

Giuliani is leading legal challenges to elections in Pennsylvania and other states as the Republican president seeks to maintain his supporter base and keep his options open for post-presidential opportunities.

Giuliani claimed in an interview with New York radio station AM 970 that illegal votes were cast, especially in Philadelphia, which he wants to see disqualified.

Giuliani's arguments came despite having been previously rejected by a judge.

Giuliani’s arguments came despite having been previously rejected by a judge.

But a broad coalition of top government and industry officials say the November 3 election was “the safest in US history.”

In Pennsylvania on Saturday (local time), a conservative Republican judge brought down the largest legal effort of the Trump campaign in the state with a scathing ruling that questioned why he was supposed to disenfranchise 7 million voters without evidence to back up their claims and an inept legal argument at best.

Trump uttered one falsehood after another while claiming baselessly that he won the 2020 election in place of Biden when he called the Pennsylvania Republican-hosted event in Gettysburg.

Trump was expected to appear in person but failed to do so after another member of his legal team tested positive for the coronavirus. They put it on loudspeaker to address the group.

Trump refuses to budge, even though Pennsylvania certified Biden as the winner in the state Tuesday and the formal transition process has already begun.
