“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable pain, experienced by many but few speak of,” he wrote.
“By being invited to share our pain, together we take the first steps toward healing.”
In a surprisingly intimate account of her experience, the Duchess described how tragedy struck a “morning that began as ordinarily as any other day: preparing breakfast. Feed the dogs. Take vitamins. Find that missing sock. Pick up the rebel crayon that rolled under the table. I throw my hair into a ponytail before pulling my son out of his crib.
“After changing her diaper, I felt a strong cramp. I dropped to the ground with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the happy tune in contrast to my feeling that something was not right. ”
Later, she said, “I was lying on a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand.”
“I felt the moisture on her palm and kissed her knuckles, wet with our tears. Staring at the cool white walls, my eyes went glassy. I tried to imagine how we would heal. ”
Meghan, an American actress and TV legal drama star Suits, married Harry, grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle in May 2018.
Their son was born the following year.
Earlier this year, the couple announced that they would be leaving their royal duties and moving to North America, citing what they said were unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes from the British media.
They recently bought a home in Santa Barbara, California.
