Covid 19 coronavirus: the case of an Air New Zealand crew member visited six stores in Auckland

Shoppers who visited several Auckland stores last weekend are urged to be on the lookout for symptoms, after an airline crew member visited the businesses and tested positive for Covid-19.

An Air New Zealand crew member tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival in Shanghai on Sunday, after initially testing negative.

The crew member visited a gas station, two Auckland supermarkets, a paint store, a pharmacy and a pet shop, the Auckland Regional Public Health Service said in a statement.

The person visited BP Connect in Mangere, Resene Mt Roskill, and Countdown and New World in Papatoetoe on Friday, November 20.

They also visited the pharmacy at Countdown Greenlane and Animates Manukau on Saturday, November 21.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health said that shoppers who attended Animates Manukau on Saturday, November 21 between 1.22 pm and 2.11 pm should get tested.

Also, to the Mt Roskill Resene ColorShop staff on Friday, November 20 between 11:45 a.m. M. And 12:15 p.m. M. You are also asked to take a test and isolate yourself.

The paint shop said in a message tonight that it would be shutting down for a few days and that staff are being tested for the virus and self-isolating until negative results are received.

Buyers who visited the paint shop should watch for symptoms and get tested if they develop.

“No Resene personnel show any symptoms,” the store said.

“As a precautionary measure, the Mt Roskill Resene ColorShop will be cleaned before reopening.”
