Two children, ages five and 13, were killed in a serious car accident in southeastern Queensland in Australia when the vehicle sank into a dam.

A six-month-old baby and a one-year-old are at Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Two adults, a woman in her 30s and a man in her 20s with leg injuries, were transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital by road.

Two adults and four children were in the Land Rover Discovery when the vehicle crossed the wrong side of the road and crossed a road barrier.

The vehicle then rolled down an embankment before overturning and ending up on the roof of the dam.

Police and emergency services were at the scene of the serious single-vehicle accident in which the car collapsed at Wyaralong Dam on Sunday around 2:00 p.m.

Bystanders, including two off-duty medics and a paramedic on a day off, helped pull people out of the submerged car.

“We hope to be here until tonight conducting research.”
