Service manager Liam Reid confirmed that tickets for the 165 seats sold out “pretty quickly” after Gordon-Levitt’s Instagram story.

“He’s at the movies and he’s enjoying the movie with a really fun audience,” Reid said.

The staff “got a little nervous” about the star’s visit, but treated it like nothing.

“We take it easy and are more than happy to accommodate us. We have had people like John Landau for a question and answer when we project Titanic Recently.”

Reid said that while the atmosphere vibrated thanks to the presence of Gordon-Levitt, he said there was a general enthusiasm for the Mank.

Gordon-Levitt addressed his message specifically to the residents of Wellington on Sunday morning.

“I’m going to the movies tonight. In fact, it’s the first time I’ve been to a movie theater in nine months or so, since before the pandemic hit.

Upon viewing the post, Paddy Doyle of The Roxy Cinema said that Gordon-Levitt’s post had been a pleasant surprise.

“When I arrived it was only 20 percent full, now it’s half full so I have a feeling that might be the reason.”

Caleb Turnbull, 20, missed a ticket, but decided to get off anyway to see if he could take a photo with the star.

“He’s just one of those actors that I’ve grown up watching. I probably watch 10 things I hate about you at least once a year, it’s your classic teen movie. ”

“I was raised in his movie, not on purpose, but he was just part of my childhood. But I didn’t have anything better to do on a Sunday either. ”

Gordon-Levitt revealed that he was in New Zealand working on a project that he had not been able to continue in Los Angeles due to the coronavirus pandemic in an interview with The conversation on CBS last month.

“We couldn’t find a way that we felt really safe, so we came here to New Zealand,” he said.

“They have handled the pandemic in an incredible way and life is normal.”
