Crashing his bike became the least of Spanish rider Aron Canet’s concerns during qualifying for the final race of the Moto2 World Championship season in Portugal on Sunday (New Zealand time).
After crashing at turn eight at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, the 21-year-old was left skidding down the track in front of sparks from his machine.
But then Canet would really have had his life flashing before his eyes, as, slipping as he tried to stand up, he realized he had bikes flying towards him in a staggeringly dangerous situation.
After two riders flew past her exterior, Canet somehow got in between two others, before she was able to crawl off the track away from another and toward some sort of safety, taking a final turn as another rider headed down the hill.

After displaying those insanely good reflexes, the Aspar team rider quickly got to his feet and ran back to fetch his bike, rather nonchalantly giving a double thumbs up a couple of times to indicate he was okay to continue.
Canet was able to remount, return to the pits and finally set a good enough time to place him 15th out of 29 for the race on Monday morning (New Zealand time).
Canet finished second overall in his fourth year in the Moto3 World Championship last year and is 12th in his debut season in Moto2.
