The Black Ferns have been drawn into the same group as Australia at the 2021 Rugby World Cup when the official draw for the New Zealand tournament was revealed.
The defending champions will face their transtasman rivals alongside Wales and a final qualifier to be determined soon in Group A.
Black Ferns captain Eloise Blackwell said she was eager to face her traditional rivals, the Wallaroos.
“I’ve never been in a group with Australia, but every time we face each other it’s a massive battle,” she said at the official draw event, which was also attended by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, former All Black Dan Carter and several black ferns. current and old.
“Next year will certainly be no different,” added Blackwell.
In Group B, the United States and Canada have met along with qualifiers from Europe and Asia.
