A woman with Covid-19 visited AUT University when she was infected.

The confirmed case in the Auckland community, announced Thursday, is a student at the university.

However, officials said she had not been to the university campus, in Auckland’s CBD, since mid-October.

But on Friday, the university informed students by email that the woman was indeed in the student center on the AUT city campus on Tuesday between 2.30 p.m. and 2.40 p.m.

The woman first had symptoms on Monday and was tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday.

He received a positive result on Wednesday.

The email to AUT students, obtained by Thingssaid the Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) had provided the information in an update to the university.

The university said ARPHS had warned of the risk that anyone close to the student center when the woman with Covid-19 visited was considered a casual contact and had a low risk of contracting the virus.

That meant they were not required to isolate themselves, but rather had to monitor their health for 14 days starting on November 10.

Anyone who develops symptoms should get tested for Covid-19 and remain in isolation until they get the results, the email said.

“If it’s possible it was a casual contact and you have symptoms and get tested, please let us know so we can provide any support you may need.”

On Thursday, it was revealed that the woman had also been to her workplace, a clothing store called A to Z Collection on High St, where she is a shop assistant, albeit contagious.

Authorities said she reported sick Wednesday after being advised to isolate herself until she received her test result.

After having a conversation with his manager, he went to work wearing a mask, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

However, the store’s co-owner, Mei Chen, disputed the allegations, saying that the ministry’s account was a “distortion of the truth.”

Chen gave different accounts of what happened to him Things. Initially, she said that she knew that the shop assistant was not feeling well and that she was going to be tested for Covid.

In a later call, he contradicted the earlier version, claiming that he did not know the employee was receiving proof.

Instead, Chen said the employee called Tuesday to simply say he had a sore throat and would see a GP.

On Wednesday, the employee came to work as usual, Chen said.

The confirmed case, who lives in an apartment at Vincent Residences in central Auckland, visited several other locations, including CBD restaurants, while contagious.

AUT and ARPHS have confirmed the information in the email sent to AUT students.

Health officials are expected to provide an additional update at a press conference at 2 p.m. Friday.
