Auckland is closing several of its city locations, following a government recommendation that people stay away from the CBD if they can.
It occurs after a person has tested positive for Covid-19 in the community. The woman lives and works on CBD and the source of her infection has not been identified.
Auckland City Council has confirmed that it will close its three offices on Albert St, Graham St and Bledisloe House tomorrow, following the advice of the Government for people to avoid the city center.
It will also temporarily close the Auckland Central City Library, Auckland City Hall and the warm baths, as well as the Waitematā local board office.
The Ellen Melville Center will be used as a community testing center for Covid-19.
Other Auckland Council locations outside of the city center, including community centers in Parnell, Ponsonby and Freeman’s Bay, will remain open.

The government has asked people who usually work in central Auckland to work from home tomorrow if they can, or wear masks if they can’t.
Anyone with symptoms of Covid-19 is asked to stay home and isolate themselves, in addition to calling Healthline to schedule a test.
