Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has lashed out at members of the Republican Party, he says, for failing to take “action” as the chances of his father being reelected continue to decline.
In a tweet, which the platform quickly flagged for misinformation, Donald Jr called for a “total war” over the election results.
“The best thing for America’s future is that @realDonaldTrump goes to all-out war for this election to expose all the fraud, cheating, dead / no more voters in the states, that has been going on for far too long. It’s time clean up Fix this mess and stop looking like a banana republic! “he wrote on Twitter.
Trump Jr. reiterated his father’s baseless allegations of widespread fraud.
Also today, Vernon Jones, a pro-Trump Democrat from Georgia, was filmed alongside Don Jr threatening to shoot Biden supporters.
In the footage, the main stand-in for Trump’s campaign tells the crowd: “Now we’re starting to see the white in his eyes and we’re getting ready to start shooting.” Next to him, Don Jr smiled.
President Trump spoke today from the White House, in a speech marred by misinformation and baseless accusations.
“If you count the legal votes, I win easily,” Trump said.
“If they count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us,” he added.
“If you count the votes that arrived late, we are analyzing them very carefully. Many of them have arrived late.”
Illegal votes are not counted because they do not exist.
“We were actually earning a lot in all the key places, and then our numbers miraculously started to drop, secretly,” Trump added, describing how vote counting works.
Numerous television networks withdrew from the president’s speech after a few minutes of unsubstantiated lies.
“What a sad night for the United States of America to hear its president say that,” CNN host Jake Tapper said after the press conference.
“Falsely accusing people of trying to steal elections, trying to attack democracy that way with its feast of falsehoods. Lie after lie after lie.”
