A child is seriously injured after being hit by a car in central Auckland this morning.
St John Ambulance says a pedestrian was hit in Remuera at 7:50 am.
Two vehicles attended the incident. One patient was taken to Auckland Starship Hospital in serious condition and a second person was treated at the scene.
Ascot Ave was briefly closed between Remuera Rd and Green Lane East.
One lane of the highway remains closed, and motorists were warned to expect delays during rush hour.
The Serious Accident Unit was attending the accident, a police spokesman said.
