US election: Donald Trump ‘lies’ about Joe Biden – friend

Biden’s connection to his hometown is controversial because President Donald Trump accuses him of defecting from Scranton.

“He likes to go around the Pennsylvania thing. Look at it another way: he left Pennsylvania,” Trump said.

Connors believes that Trump is lying.

“Lie about Scranton, lie about Joe, lie about everything.”

He said the truth is that Biden is a fighter in overcoming adversity and tragedy, like the car accident that killed his first wife and daughter in 1972.

“What did he do? He got up like his father taught him. He said ‘Joe, if you get knocked down, you get up and you’re a man.’ And that’s what they taught us here in Scranton,” Connors said.

Now 77, Biden might have given up, but Connors said he “had a calling.”

“They called him, ‘Joe, you’re not done, you’re not done yet. Your people need you.’ So he recovered and got back in the game, and he’s here, and he’s going to be the President of the United States,” he said.

“This is our time, this is our time, this is not Donald Trump’s time. He is a receiver, Joe Biden is a giver.”

The latest polls show it’s a close race in Pennsylvania between Biden and Trump, showing Biden ahead by just 5.1 points.

Trump won the state in the 2016 election.

Biden campaigned in Pennsylvania on Sunday in a bid to bring home the presidency.

“President Trump is terrified of what is going to happen in Pennsylvania,” Biden told the crowd.

“He knows that the people of Pennsylvania can express their opinion. If you can have a voice, he has no chance.”

If he takes office, Biden will really put his hometown on the map.
