The Sudima Hotel is being used exclusively by Russian and Ukrainian seafarers, who arrived on a charter flight paid for by three major fishing companies.

Health Minister Chris Hipkins announced on Friday new testing requirements for international maritime crews arriving in New Zealand.

The country’s second case arrived on October 19 from Milan via Singapore and tested positive in routine tests around the 12th.

The final case from New Zealand on Monday was caught in controlled isolation in Auckland, after he was given permission to reunite with a family member recently arrived from abroad.

The family member was previously registered in the ministry’s positive case totals.

“Today’s case will be registered as an import-related case,” the ministry spokeswoman said.

The ministry said that on the 15th the tests of the Russian and Ukrainian fishing crews were carried out on all members of the group who were not yet confirmed cases.

Monday’s four cases bring the total number of active cases to 81.

The total number of confirmed cases from New Zealand is now 1607.

On Sunday, the labs completed 3,046 tests, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 1,104,113.
