There are two new cases of coronavirus in New Zealand, both in controlled isolation.
Nine days have passed without any community case in the country.
A person who arrived from Amsterdam, via Singapore, on October 23, tested positive for Covid-19. The second imported case was a person who arrived from the UK, via Dubai and Malaysia, on October 19.

A spokesman for the Health Ministry said both cases were detected during routine testing and isolation processes and are now in the Auckland quarantine facility.

This brings the total number of active cases to 77.
The total number of confirmed cases is now 1603.
On Saturday, labs completed 4,401 tests for COVID-19, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 1,101,067.
The last case in the community was reported on October 23, of a domestic contact connected to the group of marine employees.
Christchurch returnee cluster closed
The Christchurch returnees group is now closed.
More than 28 days have passed since the last case, the duration of two cycles of infection, and the group has officially closed.
The group began with the report on September 19 of an individual who developed symptoms. The person was examined after finishing 14 days in controlled isolation and gave two negative tests on day three and day 12.
As a result of an investigation within the managed isolation facility, it was thought that the most likely source of infection would be via a garbage can, which was shared with their neighbor who had developed the infection between the two tests at the facility.
There are seven cases linked to the cluster, six announced as cases in the community (September 19, 20 and 23) and the seventh (September 9), detected while they were still in managed isolation, but later linked to the other six cases .
The Health Ministry said that the lessons from this group have led to changes, including strengthening its procedures and processes for managed isolation.
