Spy: Inside Paul Henry’s ‘Secret’ Wedding With Diane Foreman And Her New Business Venture

Paul Henry has opened up about his marriage to businesswoman Diane Foreman, saying they are both “gloriously happy,” and has revealed how plans for their secret wedding were leaked.

The announcer reveals in his new book that he hadn’t wanted to pull out of his daughter Bella’s wedding a week earlier, and that he and Diane had simply invited guests to a housewarming in Auckland in March.

“… so hardly anyone knew that I was getting married. People thought they were going to attend a housewarming. We intended and called people a few days before to let them know what it really was, as those kinds of surprises in the day can be disastrous, ”writes Henry in his new book, I’m in a United States.

“The New Zealand Herald found out and ran a story about our supposed wedding on Thursday, so we posted two security guards at the door to avoid unwanted glances. I have no interest in promoting my personal life, although, oddly, I do. I’m doing … on these pages. I’ve never spoken so personally in previous books. It must be part of my ‘America.’

He said he and Diane, who turned 60 this year, had “known each other for many years.”

“I have cared for her and she for me. We were together briefly many, many years ago, but the media attention on our relationship and other pressures separated us.

“Until about three years ago I was with the wonderful Linzi. We parted company only because of a particular circumstance beyond our control. I love her very much and always will. The worst thing about this coming weekend will be how sad it will make Linzi. Hopefully. I could be there, but it’s so much to ask that I won’t. We will be, I hope, best friends for life. “

Henry said Diane looked beautiful “but more importantly, she was gloriously happy. Like me.”

It’s another great week for Henry with the launch of his new wine and new book.

New Zealand’s most colorful announcer is launching his third pinot noir with Invivo, the wine company famous for its collaborations with Graham Norton and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Henry says he wanted to make a new wine that was an intellectual combination with his new book, which reflects on his life in the United States and his trip back to New Zealand during the pandemic.

He called Invivo & Co as soon as he returned to his home country, fresh from the quarantine of his second home in Palm Springs.

The first two batches of Henry’s pinot noir V3 were launched in 2016 and 2017 and both sold out unprecedentedly. Now the Glengarry wine store has purchased almost all of its third batch.

He describes it, at $ 30 a bottle, as excellent value for money.

“Remember, it is not what a wine costs that matters, it is what it is worth compared to what it costs and I have only used the best pinot noir grapes from Central Otago.”

Henry’s wife, Diane Foreman, does not drink alcohol but is very tolerant of his almost obsessive love of red wine. He says his daughters are wonderfully happy drinkers and he is proud to say they have a refined palate for good reds, especially his.

With US election week approaching, the 60-year-old is a huge fan of many things in America, and says his new Pinot is more of a Trump mix than a Biden mix, as it will be a bit hit or miss, rich, smooth, and certainly not dull and boring.

Henry will bring that unpredictability to Glengarry Wines Victoria Park this Friday for a tasting and bottle signing before taking his nationwide wine and book tour.

“My new book, I’m in a United States, is marked by how honest it is,” Henry tells Spy.

“It really is exactly what my life is like and how I feel, written for the first six months of this year. Since changing my first diaper, something I’m very proud of not having done before 2020, despite having three daughters. “

Henry talks about the American elections and his love affair with the United States, and says that when people read the book, they will probably realize that he already shares much of what he loves about America.

Don’t rule out a meeting of the minds of Invivo’s ambassadors, post-pandemic Henry, Norton and Parker. Invivo co-founder Tim Lightbourne said they hope they can make that happen.

“There would be lots of laughs. Graham and SJP already know each other. Paul has great stories and is very laid back, I’m sure they will enjoy his company.”

As for Henry, he’s more of a Norton than Parker mix.

“I have a lot of affection for Graham and I have a lot more in common with him than Sarah Jessica Parker. However, I know he’s a lot of fun and at 73 questions with Sarah Jessica Parker / Vogue, he’s better than any other celebrities I’ve seen. Obviously We all share a love for sparkling wine, “says Henry.
