A longboard belonging to a Christchurch woman who died under unexplained circumstances has been found.

Rosalie Anderson-Hill left her home in downtown Christchurch on a black skateboard and wearing a hooded robe Saturday night.

Two days later, a pair of climbers found the body of the 21-year-old at the bottom of a cliff in Port Hills. How it came to be there is unknown.

Detective Sergeant Damon Wells said Thursday that a member of the public had found the longboard and turned it over to police.

He thanked the public for presenting sightings and information about Anderson-Hill.

“As a result of this information, we now have a greater understanding of Rosalie’s movements from Sunday, October 25 to Monday, October 26.”

Anderson-Hill left her home on Alexandra St, Richmond, in a hurry after a brief conversation with her sister, Lilly, around 7 p.m.

It’s not clear why, but she was distraught and had told her sister that she loved her.

It was the last time he spoke to someone in his family.

Anderson-Hill was known to go off the grid, so her family was not particularly concerned when she didn’t get in touch Sunday. It was Monday night that they found out that he had died.

His mother, Miranda Hill, previously told him Stuff she believed her daughter’s death was an accident and that she had slipped and fallen 100 feet off the cliff at Cattlestop Crag.

She loved the outdoors and her mother thought she might have ventured into the hills to clear her mind.

Anderson-Hill had long dreadlocks and was about 170 centimeters tall.

She was wearing the hooded robe, white and blue paisley-patterned pants, and black and white shoes.

His death has been referred to the coroner.
