Great Australian showdown between koala and kangaroo on North Stradbroke Island

In possibly one of the most Australian scenes ever, a kangaroo and a koala have been filmed in a tense confrontation in Queensland.

Video posted by 7NEWS shows a kangaroo chasing a koala as it crawls across the ground and then appears to jump.

“Oh my gosh, they’re fighting. The kangaroo is trying to hurt the koala!” you can hear a woman saying in the pictures.

The koala cowers in fear before running towards him, and the roo chases after him.

The koala then stops under a tree and both marsupials roam peacefully in different directions.

The incident unfolded on North Stradbroke Island, off the east coast of Queensland, over the weekend.
