The 17-year-old’s mother, Louise Williams, who wants to keep her son’s name hidden, says she is still traumatized by what happened last Thursday at Spargo Park in Massey.

“I got a distressed call from him, he was screaming … help me, help me mom, I just got my head kicked,” Williams said.

She said her son was taking a lunch break to study at a nearby reservation when he was attacked by four men, who trampled and kicked him for about five minutes.

After calling his mom, he managed to crawl to the house of a close family friend, who then took him to the emergency room where he received forty stitches.

Williams said he will need surgery on his teeth.

Police told 1 NEWS that this is an isolated incident and that the community should not be concerned.

Williams said it will take her family some time to feel safe again.

“This should serve as a safety warning for parents, West Auckland is not what it used to be,” he said.

“I have lived here for 46 years, I cannot believe this has happened.”

Witnesses say they saw an elderly woman in gray sweatpants and that the police would like to speak to her.

If anyone has any information, they are encouraged to call 105 and quote file number 201023/8330.
