Several crashes on Auckland’s motorways have blocked lanes and caused delays for those wanting to escape for the long weekend today.

They included a three-car accident that blocked a lane on the Auckland Harbor Bridge.

Police and St John attended the Harbor Bridge accident around 10.30am. M.

Seven people participated.

Three people were treated for minor injuries and one person was taken to Auckland Hospital.

Four others were offered medical treatment, but declined.

In the latest Waka Kotahi NZTA update, the lane has been reopened and the bridge is now free from congestion.

Just after 10 a.m., a multi-car crash blocked the southbound right lane between Hill Rd and Takanini, but by 10:45 a.m. the SH1 crash had cleared and congestion was beginning to ease.

Around the same time as the Harbor Bridge incident at 10.30am, a collision near the Market Rd off-ramp near Greenlane blocked the southbound left lane. By 11 a.m., the incident had been cleared and all lanes open.

After several minor accidents this morning, police are urging motorists to be careful and patient.
