A road north of Canterbury was closed after a three-vehicle accident.
Emergency services were called for the accident on State Highway 7 (Weka Pass Rd) in Hurunui around 12.10pm on Friday.
A police spokeswoman said the road was closed and traffic management was in place.
Motorists were warned to avoid the area if possible. More information will be provided once it is available, he said.

St John’s spokesman Gerard Campbell said crews were at the scene and at least one patient was slightly injured and a rescue helicopter was on the way.
A spokesperson for the Christchurch Transportation Operations Center said motorists should expect significant delays on SH7 west of Waipara and north of Loop Rd.
A detour had been established along Greta Valley Rd shortly after 1:15 PM.
A spokeswoman for the New Zealand Transport Agency said those traveling north between Christchurch and Nelson should take SH1.
