Shell V-Power Racing has repaired the damage to Scott McLaughlin’s Mustang long before ARMOR ALL qualification in the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

McLaughlin hit the wall on the run to Forrest’s elbow in the later stages of Practice 5, damaging the left side of the nth inning. 17.

Later, the driver explained that he had “increased downward speed” by passing the right-hand curve before the left-hand curve.

A Shell V-Power Racing team spokesperson told Supercars.com that the repair was limited to requiring a new left rear suspension arm.

Repairs were completed an hour after the session ended, well before qualifying at 4:05 pm local time.

Despite the accident, McLaughlin finished Practice 5 at the top of the timesheets, the first session of the weekend so far not surpassed by Tickford Racing.

McLaughlin teamed up with co-driver Tim Slade earlier this year as he tries to defend his 2019 Bathurst victory.
