Scott McLaughlin limps back to the pits after crashing during Friday’s practice session.
Kiwi Scott McLaughlin has flown around Mt Panorama in Bathurst 1000 practice, but the Ford superstar lost control of his Mustang late in the session.
The Supercars champion already set the fastest lap on Friday, but he intended to push his Shell V-Power car to the limit.
McLaughlin was tracking down to improve on his previous fastest lap until turning and hitting a wall with less than two minutes to go in the hour-long session.

Kiwi Scott McLaughlin hits the wall with two minutes remaining in a one-hour practice session.
The 27-year-old is hopeful that any damage to his car will be minor.

“I just accelerated the downshift and then that was it,” McLaughlin said.
“You’re using engine braking so much that as soon as you fail one you’re out of the rut, that’s all I did.
“I tried to get it back halfway, but as soon as I parked the lower arm, it was a bit of a passenger.
“I think everything will be fine. The car is super sassy, oh my god. It felt mega.”
Holden junior Bryce Fullwood produced the second fastest time, followed by Ford veteran Lee Holdsworth in third place.
After claiming both practice sessions on Thursday, Tickford’s rising star Cameron Waters came in fourth.
His co-driver Will Davison previously demonstrated why he remains one of the top Supercars drivers after a dazzling first session on Friday.
Without a full-time unit after his 23Red team withdrew from the championship due to the impacts of COVID-19, Davison has been parked for most of 2020.
But by teaming up with Waters at Mt Panorama, the pair have a great chance to win the big race.
Davison, a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner, finished against Holden veteran Garth Tander, while Ford drivers Dale Wood, Tim Slade and Michael Caruso completed the top five.
In a hectic practice Friday, two red flags were raised after Jayden Ojeda and Jordan Boys went off the track in separate incidents.
Most co-drivers make it to the end of the season without taking the wheel of a Supercar this year after previous traditional enduro events were canceled.
