New information on the police investigation into the death of Rotorua’s mother, Melissa Jones, last year will be released on Police Ten 7 tonight on TVNZ2.

The 25-year-old was last seen in Rotorua on the weekend of 7th and 8th September 2019 before she was found deceased on the shore of Lake Rotorua six weeks later, on October 18, 2019.

His death remains unexplained and the police need the help of the public to reconstruct his movements before his death.

“Police investigating the death of Rotorua’s mother, Melissa Jones, believe that her appeal to the Ten 7 Police tonight will shed some light on the days leading up to the discovery of her body on October 18 of last year.

“Nearly a year later, the detectives in charge of the investigation are still reconstructing Melissa’s latest movements, and are confident that there will be members of the public watching the show tonight who can help provide some answers to her grieving family.

“The police will also release new information about the program regarding a key aspect of their investigation.”
