One person was run over and killed on a residential street in Massey, West Auckland, police confirmed.

Sergeant David Best said the person died on Donovan Ave around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle involved rolled down a driveway and struck a person, a police spokeswoman said.

“Initial inquiries indicate that no one was in the vehicle at the time.”

A neighbor said that she had heard a “loud bang and a scream” while she was turning off her clothes, but did not think about it.
