Four men in their 20s have been charged with assault in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man in South Auckland.
Nigel Fuatimu died after a “random and unprovoked” attack in Jellicoe Park, Manurewa, on Saturday, October 3, 2020.
Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin said two men were arrested Monday and two more on Tuesday.
All four were charged with battery and appeared in Manukau District Court this week.

The men are 23, 24 and two 26.
Fuatimu was found unconscious in the park and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Adkin said that before the attack, Fuatimu had been having social drinks at a nearby house and listening to music.
Then he and his friends moved to the park where they played their music through speakers. They were confronted by two men and an “altercation” ensued.
Fuatimu’s family was “absolutely devastated” by his death, Adkin said.
“They have lost a beloved son and brother.”
A close relative previously told you Stuff Fuatimu’s death had been “a great shock.”
The woman described him as a calm and shy man, who had “such a bright future ahead of him.”
Adkin said investigations into the incident were ongoing and there were likely more charges.
