More than 1 million kiwis have undergone a Covid test

The Ministry of Health reported that we had just passed the million mark, with a total of 1,000,764 tests completed as of yesterday.

Chief Health Officer Dr Ashley Bloomfield acknowledged that reaching that milestone demonstrates the continued effort in New Zealand to eradicate the virus.

“The one million test milestone reflects a sustained team effort,” he said.

“I want to acknowledge everyone who has been tested to date and the skilled workforce that performs the tests.

Bloomfield thanked everyone who had been part of the process.

“Thank you for your contribution. You have made a difference.”
