When sharing the error on Twitter, the ‘a’ in Maori was replaced by a pound icon which is believed to have occurred during his attempt to incorporate the macron on top of the letter.
In a tweet, the University apologized and said that a third-party vendor experienced a “technical problem” while producing the digital certificates.
“We apologize for this and thank you for letting us know. A technical issue with the macron by a third-party vendor has caused this error in digital copies of certificates uploaded to the cloud-based website. All hard copies they are individually verified, “the university said.
Some Twitter users called the education provider and exclaimed that more care should be taken, especially with something as important as a graduation certificate.
The university says that special care is taken to ensure that each physical copy of the graduation certificates is individually checked for errors.
