The Armed Criminal Squad is assisting an incident in Westbrook Terrace, Nelson.
Police arrested two men in Nelson after the Armed Criminal Squad was called in to search for a “person of interest.”
A police spokeswoman said a 34- and 26-year-old man was taken into custody, and the charges will continue Saturday afternoon.
She confirmed that the operation was related to a man who was wanted in connection with an incident earlier in the week.
Brook St was blocked and the vehicles were turning as police and AOS members searched for an address on Westbrook Terrace. The spokeswoman said police wanted to thank residents for their patience while the laces were in place.

A witness said police officers with guns could be seen around a home in Westbrook Terrace and there was loud pounding and screaming before two men were arrested.
One of the men seemed quite agitated when they stopped him.
Officers used a loud megaphone to communicate with someone inside the home. At one point, several loud knocks and many screams were heard. A police dog and a handler were also at the scene.
The spokeswoman said the loud noises were likely due to a distraction device used as part of the search, not a firearm.
A resident who took to the streets during the commotion said there were “always problems” in the house in question.
Another resident said he had counted nine unmarked police cars on the streets of Westbrook Terrace on Saturday when he was walking down the street with his children.
Police were searching the trunk of every car that left The Brook on Saturday morning and police had placed spikes on the road as if they were preparing for someone to flee.
