The New Conservative Party says that “the left” has hacked its social media pages, after today posts showing the party’s logo in rainbow colors were uploaded to Instagram.

Screenshots of a post showing the party’s logo in rainbow colors have been shared on Twitter, despite the post being removed from Instagram and Facebook.

“Unfortunately, the left has used the usual deception to remove one of our pages,” said New Conservative Party deputy leader Elliot Ikilei.

“They can repress for a short time but freedom will win in the end,” he added on Instagram.

The post on social media included a message of support for the LGBTQIA + whānau.

“We have been listening to the demands of our constituents and have come to understand that our previous policies regarding the Rainbow community are not in line with the realities of our nation,” the pirated post reads.

“During the next weeks and months, we will be modifying the policy, listening to the voices of the community to build a more just and equitable Aotearoa for our LGBTQIA + whanau.”

The publication is in direct contradiction to New Conservative’s policy of gender idealogy, which “recognizes that there are two biological genders.”

It appears that the post on Twitter and Instagram has been deleted and reposted multiple times.

Social media users have commented on both positive and negative comments on Facebook and Twitter posts.

“This is incredible,” commented one Facebook user.

“Whoever keeps posting this is doing God’s work, keep it up,” wrote another.
