The stroller holding baby Chloe Labone rolled down from near the top of the driveway (top left), across the trail, the bus lane, the southbound lane, and then onto the lane toward the north (right) where the collision occurred. The photo and tire marks predate the incident – a man who lived nearby said he did not hear any braking and that such marks were not visible after the collision.
Police are not ruling out charges as they continue their investigation into a fatal collision between a car and an out of control stroller in Auckland.
Chloe Patricia Jie Labone, who was 5 months old, was fatally injured when her stroller rolled down a driveway onto Lake Rd in Auckland’s Northcote.
The accident occurred during the morning rush hour, shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday.
His stroller rolled down the driveway, over a wide path and through the traffic lanes and to the south before entering the northbound lane.

Maintenance worker Sudhir Saksena was within a couple of minutes of arriving home, driving his work van in the northbound lane, when the stroller rolled in front of his car.
There was nothing he could do to avoid a collision, he said.

Sudhir Saksena says that she feels very bad after the accident, but that there was no time to avoid hitting the stroller.
Saksena said Stuff he was neither distracted nor rushed and there was no way to avoid the tragedy.
“It was like the blink of an eye, it came in front of me.
“I could not do anything”.
The stroller lodged in the front of her car, but the container and Chloe were thrown several feet.
Saksena rushed to help, finding the baby immobile but with no obvious physical injury.
Chloe was taken to Starship Children’s Hospital in critical condition, but died from her injuries a few hours later.
Saksena was interviewed by the police in the hours after the accident.

An officer called him Thursday to tell him that the investigation was ongoing and there were people left to interview.
They are keeping their lips closed on the case, saying Thursday that the matter was still under investigation and that they were in no position to comment further.
Police did not dismiss charges when speaking to Saksena or asking her directly Stuff.
They released Chloe’s name Thursday along with a brief statement, saying they would “continue to investigate this tragic incident.”
The family prepares to say goodbye to Chloe on Saturday.
A death notice said a “celebration of Chloe’s life” would be held in a small park near the family’s home on Saturday afternoon.

Saksena has said that she wants to go to Chloe’s funeral.
He is surrounded by a supportive family, but in quiet moments he finds himself constantly reliving the moments of horror from the accident.
“I can’t get over it. It is there whenever I am alone. “
Chloe’s death has also been referred to the coroner.
