Jockey Rosie Myers is in an induced coma at Wellington Hospital after a fall in Foxton.
Central ward racing jockey Rosie Myers is in a hospital induced coma after a fall.
Myers was riding at the Foxton Trials Wednesday, but fell off her horse and is believed to have been pulled up by another horse behind her. They flew her to Wellington Hospital.
Her husband William Fell said Stuff: “I think the horse got scared of something on the track and a horse behind it went upside down.”
Fell was in Palmerston North, but traveled to Wellington as soon as he heard the news. He was due to meet with hospital staff Wednesday morning to get an update on Myers’ condition.

At this stage he is still in an induced coma. He’s had a steady night and we’re going to a meeting shortly.
“They are doing all the usual processes and procedures.”
He said the hospital staff wanted to be cautious.
