Everyone has had a fit of road rage at some point, but for the most part it’s a few chosen words or maybe a honk and you move on.

But this Italian kart driver took his driving rage to a simply dangerous level during the FIA Karting World Championship.

Luca Corberi, 23, left social media in utter disbelief and a former F1 world champion called for the end of his racing career after he put the lives of his opponents at risk during a race at the Lonato circuit.

The former junior champion was forced to withdraw from the race after coming into contact with a fellow driver, but instead of walking behind barriers, he stayed to the side of the track. What happened next left everyone stunned.

Corberi stood on the side of the track holding the bumper of his kart before taking to the track and throwing the bumper at a driver, believed to be Paolo Ippolito.

“What is Luca Corberi playing at?” says the commentator trying to figure out what he’s doing on the track.

“Oh Luca Corberi, what the hell are you doing? Sorry, that’s absolutely unacceptable.

“Luca Corberi becomes public enemy number one.

“He is going to completely deny the officials. They are going to walk the circuit. Luca Corberi is coming in and he should be waiting at the quarterback.”

“I guess it wasn’t a motor attack. He clearly feels like someone has done it wrong, somehow.”

Fortunately, the dangerous act did not cause injury to the other drivers during the race with the bumper debris cleaned.

But the horrible scenes didn’t end there.

After the race, footage emerged showing Corberi attacking Ippolito in the pits, with reports emerging of a man in a black hoodie joining the chaos as Corberi’s father.

“The man in the black hoodie who also assaulted the driver is Corberi’s father, who owns the track. The FIA should never race in Lonato again,” wrote motorsports journalist Aurora Dell’Agli.

The footage shows Ippolito with his head down next to his kart as Corberi rushes out from under cover and forcefully pushes him back against the fence.

The two get into a fight before their fellow drivers and officers rush to separate them.

The crazy and dangerous incidents, on a track owned by the Corberi family, stunned spectators with many calling for a life suspension on the Italian.

“Luca Corberi just destroyed any chance he had in a racing career after his disgusting behavior today at the FIA Karting World Championships. His father owns the circuit and you see the power pushing the guy against a wall. Lifetime ban on these two idiots please. “Wrote 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button.

“FIA Karting Championship in Italy today. What is this guy doing? He should be banned from racing for life,” wrote former F1 driver Robert Doornbos.

“This is insane, you should be banned from running for life for doing something like this,” wrote Siddhartha Sharma.

“Oh my God, what happened in the Karting World Championship! Exemplary sanction after this, Luca Corberi will never step on a circuit in his life”, wrote Beatriz Pino.
