Finals Week 1 Charges: Viliame Kikau Faces Suspension

They may have earned a bye week, but Penrith took a hit Saturday morning with star forward Viliame Kikau who was ruled out of the preliminary finals due to rigging.

Kikau was charged with a dangerous grade one shot for a tackle in the first half in Friday’s 29-28 victory over the Roosters, the Panthers confirmed Saturday.

The charge would have him serve a suspension from a game if he pleads guilty early or is found guilty before the judiciary.

The club has until noon on Sunday to present a plea.

Roosters mainstay Jared Waerea-Hargreaves faces a fine after being charged with a careless high tackle on Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards.

The grade one charge and a prior offense similar to his name mean that Waerea-Hargreaves will charge a fine of $ 850 if he pleads guilty.
