Election 2020: Better news for National in new poll, but still far behind Labor

National has seen a slight increase in polls but is still far behind Labor, according to tonight’s poll.

Although the party is up two points to 33, it is still well behind Labor, which has 47 votes, that’s one point down.

That’s according to tonight’s 1News / Colmar Brunton poll, which also shows the Acts up 8 percent.

With these numbers, Labor wins 59 seats in the House, one less than forming a government alone.

He would need the support of the Greens, who were at 7 percent, also one more point.

New Zealand First are at 1%, well below the 5% threshold.

In fact, NZ First now has the same level of support as the New Conservative Party, the Opportunity Party, the Māori Party and Advance New Zealand.

About 11 percent of voters don’t know who they will vote for, according to Colmar Brunton, that’s three points less than last week.

Tonight’s numbers are the lowest in 10 years for New Zealand First.

In the rankings of preferred prime minister, Jacinda Ardern remains at the top with 54 percent.
National leader Judith Collins is 23 years old, which is the highest level of support for a national leader since Bill English.

Collins told 1News that his party was “selling out and we move on.”

“I think it’s important to have momentum,” he said.

Collins said the rise of National and Act was a reflection of what people thought.

“The result of our survey increased, as did [Act’s] – shows you that there are more people sitting and thinking about the economy. “

Meanwhile, Ardern said, “The really strong feeling that I have from people right now is that they are looking for strong and stable leadership in these times,” he told 1News.

“Now is the time for that stable government.”

Latest survey results:

Workforce: 47% (1 less than in the last survey)
National: 33% (up to 2)
Act – 8 percent (up to 1)
Green Party: 7 percent (up to 1)
NZ First: 1 percent (down 1)

Allocation of parliamentary seats according to the results of the survey:

Workforce – 59
National – 43
Act – 10
Green Party – 8

Preferred PM:

Jacinda Ardern – 54 percent
Judith Collins – 23 percent
David Seymour – 2 percent
Winston Peters – 1 percent

Collins would have hoped that his campaign efforts would have helped National close the gap with Labor in the polls.

This time last week, the same poll revealed that National was at 31 percent, that’s one percentage point lower than the previous poll.

Although Labor was down 5 percent, it was still in the lead with 48 percent.
That is enough to form a government on its own.

The Greens were at 6 percent in the 1News poll, just 1 percent behind Act.

New Zealand First was well below the 5% to 2% threshold.

Tonight’s poll comes just a day after last night’s Newshub / Reid Research poll, which also showed Labor leading the way with 50%.

That was nearly 20 percent higher than National’s 29.6 percent level of support.

Political elections become much more frequent as Election Day approaches; From now on, new numbers will be published at least once a week.

Tonight’s poll ran from Wednesday through last night.

That means it will take into consideration how voters responded to National’s agricultural and social policies.

It would also take into account the Labor plan to phase out all single-use plastic by 2025.
