UFC boss Dana White baffled by Kiwi’s fierce haka

Dana White has seen a lot of unusual things as UFC president, but it seems like a Maori war dance is not one of them.

At the UFC weigh-ins, kiwi featherweight “Sugar” Shane Young threw an enthusiastic haka, as a challenge to Slovakian newcomer Ludovit Klein.

White just stood there with his hand outstretched, looking completely taken aback when Young couldn’t shake it. Young is affiliated with Ngāti Kahungunu.

There was a fight between Adesanya and his Brazilian opponent Paulo Costa, when Costa taunted him with a ju-jitsu belt.

Young’s opponent lost the weight by four pounds. The fight is likely to continue.

A fighter who loses weight usually loses 30% of his portfolio.
