Katrina Epiha allegedly escaped from Corrections on September 11 after being taken to Middlemore Hospital.
Captured fugitive Katrina Epiha has been taken into custody after she got into a fight with custody officers at the pier.
Epiha, 22, faced a charge of escaping legal custody after allegedly fleeing from officers at South Auckland’s Middlemore Hospital around 12:30 a.m. on September 11.
He was in the hospital for medical treatment that he could not receive in prison, Corrections said.
Epiha appeared in Manukau District Court on Friday after being arrested at an address in Massey, West Auckland, overnight.
A 47-year-old man at the address was also arrested by the police.
In court, he yelled “F … hurry up” and tried to push his way through the custody officers.
She also yelled, “I don’t want to be here, let me go.”
Additional security personnel were in court during Epiha’s appearance.
Judge David Harvey ordered that he appear via an audiovisual link.
He will appear again in Manukau District Court on October 16.
Epiha was jailed in 2019 for the murder of Christchurch mother Alicia Maree Nathan.
