The tattoo has Collins recreating his infamous firearms training photo from 2011, but is instead holding a gold pistol, with the New Zealand flag behind it.
Underneath it says “Crusher Collins”.
The couple, along with Given partner Mel and MP Tim van de Molen, met in a Matamata cafe.
“Don’t worry about the media,” Collins told them. “If they bite you, I bite them back.”
Of the tattoo, Collins said he particularly liked the gold pistol.
Nik got the tattoo earlier this month, telling 1 NEWS that he decided to tattoo Collins as he is a “staunch supporter of National and I love what Judith stands for.”
“I had to be a few whiskeys to get through,” he told Collins today.
Nik said the tattoo symbolizes freedom and it took around six hours.
They started talking about the Covid-19 lockdown measures, and Collins said she was concerned “how quickly some people got into whistle-blowing mode.”

“Where is the Kiwi road?” Nik asked.
“Apparently he’s bending down on people,” Collins replied. “It worried me, you do it for things that are serious.”
Mel spoke to Collins about his newfound interest in politics, spurred after a difficult time during the confinement.
“I had never been in politics until this year, but this year means something to me,” he said.
“I had a horrible time during the confinement.”
Mel said she had a chronic illness and couldn’t see a specialist.
“It put me in a very dark place. For me it is a case that we need a better way forward.
“There were a lot of people who were not well.”
Nik also praised Collins’ performance during last night’s first TVNZ leaders debate.

Jacinda Ardern de Labor, who was also in Waikato today, said she probably knew the artist, given that he did so in her hometown of Morrinsville at Dave’s famous tattoo studio.
She did not encourage anyone to get a tattoo of her, on her thigh or anywhere else.
