The three new cases are all separate returnees who arrived from the United States on September 18.

One case traveled from London via Dubai on September 16 and the other from Croatia via Frankfurt and Dubai on September 18.

Two are in quarantine in Auckland.

The third case is under quarantine in Rotorua.

The three community cases on Wednesday, a 1 to 4-year-old girl, a 20-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, who are part of the same family, traveled to Taupō between September 18 and 20.

The Health Ministry previously said that the family, who live in Auckland, are not connected to the community group in Auckland, but had taken a chartered flight from Christchurch to Auckland on September 11 with a man who was diagnosed with coronavirus at the end of week.

They visited Christchurch National Airport, the hot pools at the DeBretts Spa Resort, the Taupō tandem skydiving and Just Cuts at Westfield St Lukes, Auckland.

There are 32 people from the community at the Auckland quarantine facility, which includes 15 people who have tested positive for the virus and their household contacts.

Three people are hospitalized with coronavirus. One is at Auckland City Hospital, one at Middlemore Hospital, and the other at North Shore Hospital. The three patients are isolated in a general ward.

Since August 11, the Health Ministry’s contact tracing team has identified 4,044 close case contacts, of which 4,025 have been contacted and are self-isolating or have completed self-isolation.

The ministry was in the process of contacting the rest.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand is 65. Thirty-one are imported cases in managed isolation facilities and 34 are community cases.

The total number of confirmed cases of the virus in the country is 1,471.

The labs processed 6142 tests on Wednesday, bringing the total number of tests completed to date to 930,779.
