One person is trapped in their vehicle after it submerged in the water on Main Rd.
One person is believed to have died after a car plunged into the Lower Hutt water.
Police were at the scene of the serious accident, which involved a vehicle, which occurred around 5.30 a.m. Thursday on Main Rd in the Lower Hutt suburb of Wainuiomata.

The vehicle, which was on its roof, was submerged on the main road between Moohan St and Rowe Parade, a police spokeswoman said. Its driver was trapped.

Police confirmed that one person was likely dead.
Divers were coming in to check if someone else was in the car.
A tow truck had been sent to retrieve it.
Both the fire service and Wellington Free Ambulance were on the scene.
When the tow truck arrived, road closures were likely to be established, police said.
