A teenager suffering from hypothermia screamed for help after getting lost in a Dunedin reservation.
The 14-year-old had fallen on a bench in a native bush in the city belt, between Tolcarne Ave and Queens Dr, around 1 a.m. Saturday. The city belt covers 202 hectares and spans several urban suburbs.
Acting Sergeant Major Anthony Bond said the teen lost her phone and was there for two hours.
Police were alerted to the scene when a resident heard her scream.
Although she was difficult to reach, police found her and took her to Dunedin Hospital for treatment for hypothermia and scratches, Bond said.

Police also attended several alcohol-related incidents, including at Uptown Backpackers on Friday around 10 p.m.
A 26-year-old man became aggressive towards other guests while drinking alcohol and refused to leave several times, Bond said.
They broke through and took him home.
Earlier that night, a 59-year-old man was mugged from Henry’s bottle shop on Hanover St, after he verbally abused and threatened staff, around 6.30 p.m.
He started to leave, but then the staff stopped him.
Bond said the man received a violation notice, while staff received advice on the use of force.
