Elliott Whitehead ran the ball at the last tackle and when his speculative kick bounced off Tuivasa-Sheck’s shins, the Englishman rejoined and kicked to center field, where Hudson Young was available to score.
Ten minutes after the restart, RTS contributed to the downfall of their team, when he threw a 50-50 pass that was intercepted by Whitehead, who burst onto the field. As the Warriors fell back, Kiwis winger Jordan Rapana, playing center, put winger Nick Cotric in to seal the score.
With the departure of Tuivasa-Sheck and Tevaga also failing on a head injury assessment, the wind went off the sails for the Warriors as they fell to their 12th loss of the season.
Incoming Warriors coach Nathan Brown is not confident about retaining Tuivasa-Sheck’s services next season, telling Triple M radio that the captain was just a “chance” to play rugby league next year. and that his presence would be an “advantage” for the club.
Next Sunday, the Warriors will face the Manly Sea Eagles, before wrapping up their endless COVID-19 road trip.
