A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Christchurch.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called in to report an assault near Hereford St and Stanmore Rd around 2 p.m. Saturday.
“He has suffered arm and back injuries and is in serious condition at the hospital.”
Police were making inquiries in the area, the spokeswoman said.
The assault is known to have occurred outside a block of flats at the corner of Hereford and England streets.
