Holt left the morning show in August to take a position as a sports anchor on the 6 p.m. news.

Breakfast Executive producer John Williams said: “We are very happy that a journalist of Indira’s caliber joins the Breakfast equipment. She is a very talented broadcaster who already has experience in waking up New Zealanders with the latest news and information and we are excited to let our viewers know about her. “

Stewart said it was a “privilege” to join Breakfast.

“I’m looking forward to joining the amazing team of Jenny-May, John and Matty at the desk next month, we’re going to have so much fun.”
