Despite the tendency to refer to anyone who complains a lot as “Karen”, it turns out that Karens doesn’t top the list of the names of the people who complain the most, but they are not far behind.
To figure out the list of top complainers, the UK-based comparison site Uswitch examined Trip Advisor reviews of some of the world’s top landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House.
His research showed that the Eiffel Tower in Paris is the landmark that people complain about the most, with 17,000 negative reviews.
They also ranked the most complainant, after analyzing thousands of negative comments.
The women who complain the most, according to Uswitch, have the following names:
- Kim
- Karen
- Susan
- to sue
- Sarah
- Julie
- Emily
- Claudia
- Anna
- Raquel
When it comes to men, the ones who complain the most are called:
- Paul
- David
- Juan
- brand
- Andrew
- Steve
- Michael
- Pedro
- Jeff
- Daniel
Despite the reputation given to Karens everywhere, Kim and Paul are the ones who really want to talk to the manager.
Uswitch described on their website how they came up with the methodology for this research:
“To find out the names of the most common complainant, we first put together a list of the world’s largest tourist attractions, using their Trip Advisor pages to filter out ‘bad’ and ‘terrible’ reviews,” the company wrote. “We then collected the names of the people who wrote these reviews in the first 50 pages, focusing on those who wrote their reviews in English.
“To find out how much time was spent negatively reviewing attractions, we uncovered the average word count of bad and terrible attraction reviews and divided it by the average number of words written per minute.”
