The cases are associated with the bereavement event subgroup, which is linked to the Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship group.
One of the new cases is a student from Sunnyvale School in West Auckland, which will open tomorrow despite the positive case.
It comes when it was revealed that there were three people in the hospital with Covid-19 and the total number of active virus cases yesterday was 108.
The Sunnyvale School student did not attend school while he was infected, and the Auckland Regional Public Health Service has not identified any close contacts.
It is considered safe to attend school; however, it will be thoroughly cleaned up as a precautionary measure, parents, caregivers and staff were informed via Facebook.
The cabinet will review tomorrow the situation of the alert level of Covid-19, and the changes will be made from Wednesday at 11:59 p.m.
Elsewhere, a protest by a few thousand people in central Auckland yesterday afternoon pointed to the government’s use of the lockdown and other Covid-19 restrictions.
The protest, organized by Advanced Party co-leaders Jami-Lee Ross and Billy Te Kahika, headed towards Queen St before returning to Aotea Square.
There was little social distancing and few masks during the event.
Thirty-three cases remain in the Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship group and there are now 15 cases in the bereavement event group.
Yesterday it was revealed that 98 percent of the congregation had been reevaluated.
There are now 63 people linked to the community group remaining in the Auckland quarantine facility, 47 of whom have tested positive for Covid-19.
Since August 11, contract tracing has found 3,647 close case contacts, of which 3,640 have been contacted and are self-isolating; the rest are being contacted.
Two people are in the ICU at North Shore and Waikato hospitals with Covid-19; meanwhile, the other is isolated in a ward of Auckland city hospital.
Along with yesterday’s two new cases and eight additional recovered cases, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in New Zealand is 108.
Most of the active cases are from the community, a total of 70, and there are 38 imported cases in managed isolation and quarantine facilities.
The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19, which are reported to the World Health Organization, is 1,444.
A total of 8,838 tests were processed in the labs on Friday, bringing the total number of tests completed to 857,258.
