In a letter to parents, caregivers and staff yesterday, the Auckland Regional Public Health Service said the student had been in isolation and did not attend school while infected.
“The Auckland Regional Public Health Service has investigated and confirms that there are no close contacts,” the letter read.
“Public health considers the risk to any other student or staff to be very low.
“The student and his family continue to isolate themselves and their health and well-being are being monitored by public health.”

The school remains open, however, on the Henderson North School website, a statement reads: “We understand that if you want to keep your children at home, please be kind enough to let us know.”
The community has been asked to watch for symptoms of Covid-19, which include new or worsening cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever, loss of smell, or shortness of breath.
Anyone with symptoms should call their GP or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 and not attend school.
